Self-inking vs Pre-inked

Difference between self-inking and pre-inked:

Self-inking is a lower quality stamp which does have an ink resorvoir, however, it has more working parts to malfunction. Each time you use your stamp the stamp pad has to mechanically flip and stamp onto the ink pad similar to how you might use an old style rubber stamp and a separate ink pad.

A pre-inked stamp also has an ink resorvoir, however, the ink resorvoir supplies a constant flow of ink to your stamp with no mechanics necessary to do so. The pre-inked stamp advantage is that you have less mechanics to go wrong and also the ink supply is not open to the air to dry out.

This is why you will often find self-inking stamps at a low rate of $5 to $10. They are a lower end/quality stamp. Not meant to have as long of a life as the pre-inked stamps we provide.
